Powtoon Hauora

For Health Miss Dougherty set a task on Powtoon where we had to work individually. The task consisted of making slides and adding pictures related to the four walls of Hauora. The first wall is Taha Tinana ( Physical ) for me this can be playing sports, exercise, or simply just walking. The second wall is Taha Hinengaro ( Mental/Emotional ) for me this is anything to do with the way you are feeling weather your happy, angry or sad. The third wall is Taha Wairua ( Spiritual ) for me this is church or saying a prayer with your family before dinner. The fourth wall is Taha Whanau ( Social ) for me this is interacting or communicating with people anywhere.

Cells

Two types of cells

Prokaryotic cells

A prokaryotic cells is a unicellular organism for example bacteria.

Eukaryota Cells 

A Eukaryota cells can be both unicellular and multi cellular organism for example humans, fungi and insects. 

Unicellular (Single cell)

Those organisms which are made up of more than one cell are known as unicellular organisms for example Amoeba. 

Multi cellular (More than one cell)

Those organism which are made up of more than one cell are known as  multi cellular organisms for example plants, cats, dogs & us. 

Functions of cell parts (organelles) & Cell structure.

There are cell structure and functions. Below is all the parts of the cell.

1. Cell Membrane - All cells have a cell membrane. The cell membrane is a thin transparent sheet that holds everything inside and controls what come in and out of the cell. 

2. Cell wall - Only plants have both a cell wall and a cell membrane. A cell wall is made of cellulose and only found in plants. Cell wall is thick and strong. It provides strength for the plant.It gives a fixed shape. 

3.  Nucleus - Nucleus is found in all cells. The nucleus is usually a small, dark circular spot. The nucleus is the control centre for the cell meaning that it controls all the activities done in the cell. This part also contains genes which are passed on through generations. 

4. Cytoplasm - Cytoplasm is found in all cells. Cytoplasm is a water jelly like substance which fills most area of the cell. It holds the cells organelles and contains nutrients and chemicals. 

5. Vacuole - Vacuole is found in all cells. Vacuole is a water filled bubble that helps to keep the cell firm. 

6. Chloroplasts - Chloroplasts is only found in plants. Chloroplasts are a small green structure which causes the green pigmentation of a leaf. Chloroplast hold chlorophyll and they cause the green colour of the leaf. 

7. Mitochondria - Mitochondria is found in all cells. The mitochondria is known as the power house of the cell. It holds all the energy and is in charge of the respiration process.
